Scope Save, Inc.
Last Updated: March 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy for Scope Save, Inc. (doing business as Scope) ("we," "us," or "our") describes how and why we access, collect, store, use, and/or share ("process") your personal information when you use our services ("Services"), including when you download and use our mobile application (Scope) or engage with us in other related ways.

1. About Scope and Our Services

Scope is a goal-based savings application that helps users save money for specific purchases. Our service enables users to set savings goals, automatically save money through scheduled ACH transfers, track progress toward savings goals, transfer saved funds to their bank account, and discover products through curated recommendations.

Important Financial Disclosures: Scope is not a bank. We are a technology company that provides a prepaid savings service. Banking services, including the holding of user funds, are provided by our FDIC-insured sponsor bank partner(s). Your funds are held in a pooled For Benefit Of (FBO) account at our banking partner. While the sponsor bank is FDIC-insured, individual pass-through FDIC insurance coverage depends on applicable requirements being met. Scope maintains a detailed internal ledger tracking each user's individual balance. Funds held through Scope are prepaid balances, not deposit accounts, and do not earn interest.

Scope generates revenue through yield on pooled deposits held at our banking partner, affiliate commissions when users make purchases through our platform, and fees for optional premium services such as instant transfers. We do not charge monthly fees or require account minimums.

2. What Information Do We Collect?

2.1 Personal Information You Provide

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register for an account, set up savings goals, link your bank account, or contact us. This includes:

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, date of birth, Social Security number (last 4 digits or full, as required for identity verification), bank account and routing numbers, savings goal information, and government-issued identification.

2.2 Information Collected Through Plaid

We use Plaid, Inc. ("Plaid") to enable you to connect your bank account to Scope. When you link your bank account through Plaid, you authorize Plaid to access and transmit your financial information, including account and routing numbers, account balances, and transaction history. By using Plaid's services, you acknowledge and agree that Plaid's own privacy policy (available at https://plaid.com/legal/#end-user-privacy-policy) governs Plaid's collection, use, and disclosure of your personal and financial information. We receive from Plaid only the information necessary to verify your identity and facilitate ACH transfers.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

When you use our Services, we automatically collect certain device and usage information, including IP address, device type and identifiers, operating system and version, browser type, app usage data and session information, approximate location (based on IP address), and transaction and savings behavior data (savings patterns, goal completion rates, purchase categories).

2.4 Information From Other Sources

We may receive information about you from our banking partner(s), identity verification services, public databases, and affiliate program partners.

3. How Do We Use Your Information?

We process your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account, verify your identity, and comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.
  • To process financial transactions, including ACH transfers, deposits, withdrawals, and to maintain accurate account balances through our internal ledger system.
  • To monitor for and prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions, and other suspicious activity, including through our behavior-based trust tier system.
  • To comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations, including BSA/AML requirements, NACHA rules, Regulation E, and GLBA.
  • To communicate with you about your account, transactions, and service updates.
  • To improve our Services, analyze usage trends, and develop new features.
  • To facilitate purchases through affiliate partner webviews and process related commissions.
  • To send marketing communications (with your consent, where required).

4. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Information?

We may share your personal information with the following categories of third parties, only as necessary to provide and improve our Services:

  • Banking Partner(s): Our FDIC-insured sponsor bank partner holds user funds in FBO accounts and processes ACH transactions. We share necessary financial and identity information to facilitate these services.

  • Analytics and Performance Monitoring: We may use third-party analytics services to understand how our Services are used.
  • Legal and Regulatory: We may share information as required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Scope, our users, or others.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with nonaffiliated third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide our Services and fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Specific retention periods include:

When personal information is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it.
